I have oily skin so that is often the topic of conversation; however, I don’t want to neglect the girls with dry skin. Having dry skin can cause just as many issues with foundation selection as oily skin. Remember that regardless of your foundation choice, moisturizing and exfoliating are essential to having flawless, beautiful makeup application.
Here are my three suggestions for my girls with dry skin.
- Mac Face & Body: An oldie but certainly a goodie, this foundation provides more sheer coverage. It leaves a natural skin like finish and just enough dew to glow. This foundation is extremely easy to work with and is nicely applied by brush, CLEAN fingers or beauty blender for those who like options. Prior to understanding the best products for my skin and the love of a FULL coverage foundation, this was my go to.
- Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundation: Tarte is a phenomenal brand with phenomenal vegan products and this foundation is no different. This foundation does have SPF 15 which protects the skin from sun damage and also quite a beautiful coverage. The product has a decent shade range and staying power for up to 12 hours which can easily be extended with a great primer.
- Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup Oil: The most expensive on the list but worth every penny is the Hourglass Veil foundation. Don’t be fooled by the name because this product is Oil free. This foundation provides both oils and anti-aging ingredients. It has a beautiful finish, is easily blendable and is void of plenty of the things that we shouldn’t want in our foundation like oil, fragrance or parabens.
If you have dry skin you should certainly try these foundations but remember that a proper skincare routine is truly the key to beautiful foundation application. The better you care for your skin, the better your foundation will look. Also, keep in mind that there are plenty of foundations out there that will work, these are just my personal favorites and my top three picks for my clients with dry skin.
